Root Vegetable Slow Cooker Stew

Method

  1. 01

    Dice the onion finely, slice the celery thinly, peel and mince the garlic.

    Fry all of these in butter for about 3 minutes on medium heat.

    Place this and all the other root veggies, not the gravy in a crock pot on high for four hours.

    After four hours, strain everything from the liquid and place off to the side while you prep the gravy. (The liquid could be reserved for another soup or broth dish).

    Heat the butter on low and mix in the flour and stir with a whisk for 4-5 minutes.

    Mix the milk and tomato sauce together and then slowly pour in to the butter and flour mixture.

    Continue to whisk and heat until thick.

  8. 08

    Pour in all the veggies and fake meat and heat.
